Mission Statement

Raintree Habitat for Humanity builds affordable housing for residents of Henry County who fall within the guidelines of 30-60% median household income for the area served. We are able to assist underserved families who are not able to obtain conventional financing.

History:

Raintree Habitat for Humanity was chartered in 1991 to serve Henry County, Indiana. We have built homes in Middletown, Knightstown, Kennard and New Castle placing thirty-three families into their own homes with affordable, no-interest rate mortgages. These families must have an established need for a housing solution, the ability to re-pay an interest free mortgage, and the commitment to contribute sweat-equity hours to the project. Most of the homes in New Castle are located in Oak Grove, North central New Castle, and two neighborhoods north of Crown Corporation (formerly Chrysler).
