19 Becoming A Legacy Society Member The Legacy Society is a group of dedicated individuals who recognize the value of the Henry County Community Foundation andwant to support our mission to enhance the quality of life in Henry County. Members of the Legacy Society recognize the importance of making a future gift through the Foundation, andwith their leadership they encourage others to do so as well. Their planning todaywill benefit our community for generations to come. How Do I Become A Member? You are already eligible for membership in the Legacy Society if you have made arrangements in your will or through another planned giving vehicle for a gift to the Foundation. Deferred gifts may take the form of bequests, charitable remainder trusts, life insurance, or other types of charitable planned gifts. We will be happy to work with you and your advisor to tailor a planned gift that best meets your personal situation. Such gifts may be unrestricted in use, support a particular area of interest (such as senior issues, health or the arts), be added to your donor advised fund, or designated in another way you specify. “I love the idea of a permanent endowment and how it’s going to help the community now and in the future.” —Todd Thalls HCCF Legacy Society Member Awill is your legal document that ensures your estate is distributed and your family is cared for as you direct. With a will, your wishes are carried out. Without a will, the state makes all major decisions, including who will be the guardian of your minor children and how your assets will be distributed. No charitable gifts can be made from your estate without such designations through a will.
