Franka Helen Dick

September 7, 1952 – June 12, 2024

Franka Helen Dick, of New Castle, 71, passed away Wednesday June 12, 2024 at Henry Community Health. She was born on September 7, 1952 in New Castle to Pansy (Kennedy) Pyle and the late Wilburn Pyle.

She was in the first graduating class of Tri High School of 1970. Franka was an animal lover, especially cats. She enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood cats and loved her fur baby, Bubby, dearly. She also loved getting to visit with Zyler whenever he was in town.

Franka worked in the medical field for years, eventually having to retire from the Stonebrook Rehabilitation Center in 2020 due to her health. She married the love of her life, Don Dick, on February 7, 1971, and they spent many happy years together until his death on October 1, 2016. They were always together and enjoyed spending every minute together, visiting many places.

She is survived by her son, Courtney Dick; daughter, Shana (Jeremy) Williamson; grandchildren, Zyler and Brynn Williamson; brothers, Tom (Pam) Pyle, Donnie (Debbie) Pyle; mother, Pansy Pyle; brothers-in-law, Ron (Peggy) Dick, Steve (Joan) Dick, Wayne (Tammy) Dick, Bill (Lisa) Dick; sisters-in-law, Becky (David) Beavers, Denise (Butch) McDonald, Darlene (Lindsay) Steinwachs; several nieces and nephews; several cousins; and also a close friend that is like family, Andrea “Andie” (Jeff) Searle of Florida.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her father, Wilburn; and her parents-in-law, Raymond and Betty Dick.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday 20, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Brian Neal officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
