Volunteer Spotlight: Darin Brown
A Heart for Impact in the Community
When you’ve lived in a place nearly your whole life, it becomes more than a hometown—it becomes part of who you are. That’s certainly true for Darin Brown, whose roots in Henry County run deep.
Darin moved to New Castle at just four years old, and since then, he’s built a life grounded in service, family, and community. His wife, Pam, has taught at New Castle High School for 25 years, and their children, both New Castle graduates, represent the next generation shaped by this special place. Darin himself has spent the bulk of his career right here in Henry County, including his current role at Henry Community Health, which he has held since 2011.
Darin’s journey with the Henry County Community Foundation began in 2017 when he joined the Finance Committee. Drawn by the Foundation’s meaningful work and its positive influence throughout the county, he took on a deeper role by joining the Board in 2020.
But for Darin, serving on the Board is more than a title; it’s a way to give back to the place that’s given him so much.
“I enjoy being part of an organization that has such a great impact on our community,” he shared. “I feel honored to serve on the Foundation Board and to be able to give a little back to our community.”
As HCCF looks to the future, Darin looks forward to seeing the Foundation continue to build on the strong base laid over the past 40 years, expanding its impact and exploring new, innovative ways to support the well-being of Henry County residents.
“I want the Foundation to continue to create lasting, positive change that enhances the lives of those in our community for generations to come.”
From his professional life to his volunteer service, Darin Brown embodies what it means to invest in your community—and to believe in its future.
