Toy Hansen, Barbara (Jordan) Nov 22, 1926 – Jun 18, 2017 Passed away in Omaha, NE, June 18, 2017, after a brief illness. A resilient woman and homemaker, she left a legacy of personal service and engagement. After her husband’s death from cancer when she was 42, she raised four boys, ages four to 16, who all became Eagle Scouts. She remarried and became stepmother for three. She moved to Omaha in 2005 after living in Indiana and Illinois. Barbara was born November 22, 1926 in Richmond, IN; lived in a house in Centerville, IN, on the National Road; and graduated from New Castle (IN) High School. She attended Western College in Oxford, OH, before graduating from Indiana University. Conversations, emails, and visits with her children and grandchildren were constant highlights. Sports – regardless of team – brought great happiness. A patient Cubs fan for more than 60 years, she was thrilled to watch the final World Series out in 2016. Barbara was a lifetime member of many organizations: Fort Wayne Simpson United Methodist Church (leading missions work), Alpha Chi Omega, P.E.O. Chapter BX and AB (past president), Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, American Dietetic Association, and Indiana University Alumni Association. In college, she was Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. Preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Esther (Fouts) Jordan; husband, James I. Toy, Jr.; and second husband, Harold P. Hansen; brother, John M. Jordan; and sisters, Dr. Ruth Ann Jordan and Jane (Jordan) Nelson. Survived by four sons: Rev. James (Nancy) Toy, III; Thomas (Cindy) Toy; John (Kristy) Toy; and Robert (Maureen) Toy; three stepchildren: Doug (Sook-Ja) Hansen, Kay (Richard) Filak, and Gary (Judy) Hansen; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) Toy, Michelle (Jared) Warner, Eric (Jessica) Toy, Andrew Toy, and Sarah, Joseph, and Erin Toy; seven great-grandchildren: Annie, James, and Maggie Toy; Olivia and Addilyn Warner; and Nathan and Jacob Toy; five stepgrandchildren: Kirsten (Brennan) Williams, Kristopher Filak; Kiju Chris Hansen; and Elisabeth and Emily Hansen; three great-stepgrandchildren: Elin, Josiah, and Ezekiel Williams; a nephew and five nieces. FUNERAL at Rockbrook United Methodist Church (9855 West Center Road), Thursday, June 22, at 11am, with VISITATION at 10am and burial later in Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials in lieu of flowers to John M.
