Bonnie J. Peckinpaugh, age 56, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2015 following a brief battle with cancer. She was born September 18, 1958 in Newburgh, New York to Cecil and Madeline (Wulffert) Hawkins.
She was a graduate of Hamilton Heights High School in Arcadia, Indiana. Bonnie was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church and was active in the D.I.V.E. program. She was also active in the church bazaar for many years, and most recently she was in charge of making candy and cookies for the bazaar. Bonnie was involved with the Indiana State Wrestling Association, and was team Mom for the New Castle Wrestling Team. She was a past member of BNI (Business Network International). Bonnie was office manager at Neal’s Gutter Service in New Castle for several years. She was an avid animal lover, but especially loved her cats and dog. Bonnie was a great friend and caregiver to her mother-in-law Margaret for several years. She enjoyed making baby blankets, crocheting and working in her flower garden. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, and she especially loved being a grandma.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 20 years, whom she married June 10, 1995, Rex Peckinpaugh of New Castle; a son, Sean (Lindsey) Gallagher of Greenwood; a daughter, Erin Gallagher (Chris Foy) of Michigan; five grandchildren, Brianna, Noah, Savannah, Sara and Kynan; her mother, Madeline Hawkins of Indianapolis; a sister, Nadine (Michael) Florek of Indianapolis; two brothers, Brian (Tracy) Hawkins of Alabama and Gus (Kathy) Hawkins of Texas; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Cecil Hawkins; brother, Cecil Hawkins, Jr; her in-laws, Dale and Margaret Peckinpaugh, and a niece, Macenzie Hawkins.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Foursquare Gospel Church with Pastor Jim Becker with officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Christian Cemetery in Springport. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Bonnie Peckinpaugh Fund, Henry County Community Foundation, 700 S.
