Catherine Ann (Renner) Adams, 62, of Arizona passed away January 22, 2015.
She was born February 4, 1952, a daughter of Jack and Nancy (Merz) Renner.
Cathie graduated from Walter P. Chrysler High School and was accepted into the YFU (Youth For Understanding) program and spent the following year in Belgium as a foreign exchange student. She then attended Butler University for a year and then transferred to Indiana University where she received her bachelor’s degree in Germanic Studies. Cathie then obtained a teaching degree from Arizona State University and taught middle school for several years. She then spent 10 years as a test driver for Chrysler Corporation.
Cathie was very active in Cave Creek, AZ, where she made her home. She helped direct the Annual Christmas Pageant and the Annual Town Halloween celebration.
In addition to her parents of New Castle, she is survived by her children, Jessica and Josh Adams of AZ; two brothers, Jeff Renner of Cleveland, OH and Chris (wife: Melanie) Renner of New Castle; a sister, Julie Renner of New Castle; two nieces, Allison and Abbey Renner; a nephew, Brady Renner and many cousins.
Cathie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Dorothy Renner of Elwood and Harry and Emily Merz of Muncie, and several aunts and uncles.
A gathering of her friends and family was held in Cave Creek, AZ.
A memorial service to honor Cathie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in New Castle with Pastor Tom McGilliard officiating.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm until the time of service Sunday at the church.
