CELEBRATING COMMUNITY TOGETHER

In celebration of the 35 years of good work accomplished through the donors, volunteers, and staff of the Henry County Community Foundation, this new series will focus on various areas of impact.

It’s a big year but not for just the obvious, challenging times.  The Henry County Community Foundation (HCCF) is celebrating 35 years of community impact through philanthropy.  Since 1985, the Foundation has been supporting  nonprofits and providing meaningful opportunities for caring citizens to invest in the lives of all Henry County residents.  The power of this collective giving to the Choose Henry Flex Fund is evident in the partnerships HCCF has with three organizations who share this anniversary year.

EDC Project: Shell Building

The Economic Development Corp. (EDC) is celebrating 40 years.  In 2007, the HCCF and EDC collaborated on a project to build infrastructure on 400 S, which is now home to Boars Head Provisions Company and TS Tech Indiana.  Still reeling from the exit of many manufacturers, the Foundation Grants Committee and Board of Directors believed in the vision of the EDC to make the way for future jobs.  That vision has resulted in valued jobs for local residents.

Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

The Basketball Hall of Fame (BHOF) is a favorite tourist stop in Henry County and is celebrating 30 years of preserving Indiana’s high school basketball history.  Initially, the Foundation committed a grant over five years to help this organization build roots in Henry County.  Since then, supporters of the BHOF have created endowment funds at the HCCF, which provide ongoing support, and Choose Henry Flex Fund grants have provided for essential needs as they have arisen.

Memorial Park Project: Renovated Tennis Courts

One hundred years ago, a park was created to memorialize the heroic men and women of Henry County. Memorial Park is now a favorite for many members of our community as they fish, utilize shelter houses, children play on the playground, or just to celebrate Independence Day with an incredible fireworks show.  Most recently, the Foundation assisted the Henry County Friends of Memorial Park in refurbishing the tennis courts and basketball courts.  This combined support ensures recreational opportunities for generations to come.

These partnerships are only a snapshot of the good work accomplished through the Henry County Community Foundation. Our existence has been and will continue to be an avenue for caring individuals of Henry County to join together and give for the betterment of our community and the good work of local non-profits.

So whether your passions are for social services, cultural activities, health, or education, the Foundation is ready to provide you the ability to invest in your home.  Make your impact donation today. GIVE HERE
