David Crowe

David R Crowe of Fortville, IN, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024 surrounded by family at his bedside. David was born July 12, 1945 in New Castle Indiana to Tommy and L. Rose (Shelton) Crowe.

David was a 1964 graduate of Chrysler High School in New Castle. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 with a tour of service in Vietnam. He was united in holy matrimony to Nancy Kvalo on December 22, 1968. He acquired two associates degrees. One from Sams Technical Institute in electronics and later in HVAC from ITT Technical Institute. David worked for Indiana Bell/Ameritech until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, lawn care, and country music.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Crowe; daughters, Sarah (Michael) Bartel of Kewaunee, WI, Amy Crowe, Fortville, IN, and Rebecca Crowe, Pendleton, IN; and sister Jane Hudnut (Bill) Cowan, Losantville, IN. He is also survived by grandchildren Kathryn (Kegan) Sunderland, Wyoming, MN, Sgt. Dean Bartel, USAG Humphreys, South Korea, Dr. LaNea Bartel, Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Grant Bartel, Kewaunee, WI; nephew Heath (Tracey) Hudnut and niece Heather (Robert) Brannock and great-nieces Avonlea and Tiffany. He was proceeded in death by his parents.

David will be laid to rest at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, IN. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 am immediately followed by the funeral at 1:00 pm. The Rev. Daniel Mackey of Grace Lutheran Church Muncie will officiate the funeral.
