Maribeth Taylor: Cultivating Community with a Giving Spirit
For more than 46 years, Maribeth Taylor poured her heart into teaching kindergarten in the New Castle School Corporation and Building Blocks Kindergarten. Though now retired, her commitment to helping others hasn’t slowed down one bit.
Maribeth is deeply connected to the Henry County community, whether it’s staying active at the YMCA, attending First Presbyterian Church, or teaching piano and tutoring children.
Her connection to the Henry County Community Foundation began through Patty and Danny Danielson, who inspired her with their example of generosity and service. Growing up with parents who were also strong community advocates, Maribeth learned the importance of giving back early in life.
When asked to serve on the Foundation Development Committee and later the Board, she considered it an honor.
For Maribeth, volunteering her time, talent, and treasure to the Foundation is about making Henry County a better place to live. She loves the flexibility of supporting causes close to her heart, whether through a family fund, a scholarship, or even honoring a friend’s special day. “Because the Foundation funds are many and far-reaching, I feel blessed to help others and their projects,” she shares.
Her hope is simple yet powerful: that her gifts will continue meeting needs right here at home. From food and clothing to housing and education, Maribeth believes every donation matters and that giving back is a joy. Most of all, she sees generosity as a way to live out her faith, following the example of her parents and the Danielsons, who taught her that true fulfillment comes from serving others.
Maribeth’s story is a reminder that one person’s dedication can impact a whole community. We are grateful for her generous spirit, her example of service, and her lasting commitment to Henry County.
