Francis Carl Nunley, 73, of Modoc, IN passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at Reid Hospital and Healthcare Services of Richmond, IN. He was born July 22, 1941 in Logger, TN the son of Pete and Abbie (Coffelt) Nunley.
Francis retired in 1986, after 23 years at the General Motors Forge Plant of Muncie, IN. He was a member of Union Chapel Church of Carlos, IN and formerly of Rock of Faith Church of Modoc, where he had served as Deacon for many years. He enjoyed spending his leisure time Fishing, Hunting and Mowing. He most enjoyed time with his grandchildren and in his recliner.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 52 years, Judy (Cole) Nunley; four daughters, Lorenea Myers of Modoc, IN, Brenda Fisher (husband, Greg) of Losantville, IN, Lisa House (husband, Bryon) of Farmland, IN and Gina Briar (husband, Kevin) of Cambridge City, IN; a son, Robert Cole of Modoc, IN; four brothers, Rudolph Nunley (wife, Hazel), J.W. Nunley (wife, Judy), Paul Nunley (wife, Tracy) and Stanley Nunley (wife, Teresa); two sisters, Marie Shrum and Edie Mae Vincent; sister-in-law, Norita Batten (husband, Jim); eleven grandchildren, Wendy (husband, Jeremy), Zane, Caroline, Justin, Jimmy, Amanda, Lauren, Joe, Courtney and Katlynn; and two great grandchildren, Luke and Zach. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Louise Carnes.
A service to celebrate Francis’s life will be 1 pm Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN with Pastors Dave Bales and Mort Radford officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 10 am to service time on Saturday, at the funeral home.
