G. Kay Jones, age 75, New Castle resident, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born February 14, 1940 in New Castle, IN a daughter of the late Marion W. and Helen Agnes Neff Grimm. She was a lifelong Henry County resident, and was raised in Mt. Summit IN and graduated from Mt. Summit High School in 1958.
She was employed by Citizens State Bank as a bookkeeper for many years, and was a member of the Mt. Summit Christian Church. She loved family activities and always had her heart and home open for anyone in need. She enjoyed sharing time with her family and friends.
She was also a fan of NASCAR racing and enjoyed any activity her grandchildren participated in. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was her greatest joy.
Left to cherish her loving memory include: two children, Kristi L. Garner and Gregory S. Jones both of New Castle; six grandchildren, Amber D. Holcomb (husband Phil) of New Castle, Amy L. Dalton (fiancé Tim Catron) of New Castle, Geoffrey S. Jones of Markleville, IN, Kristopher A. Jones of Sneads Ferry, NC, Devyn L. Garner (fiancé Mathew Muse) of New Castle, and Kayleigh J. Jones of Connersville, IN; six great-grandchildren, Taylor L. Grubbs, Makayla K. Dalton, Drew E. Holcomb, Jared I. Catron, Jacob T. Holcomb, and Brooklyn D. Catron all of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Maybelle Grimm of New Castle; a niece, Tammy Belbutoski (husband Tom) of Fishers, IN; a great-nephew, Rick Belbutoski (wife Erin) of Ft. Wayne, IN; a great-niece Kate Belbutoski of Fishers, IN; also many close friends including her lifelong best friend, Barbara Arford of Mt. Summit survive.
Kay was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband, G. Stanley Jones who passed in 1986; a brother, G. Arthur Grimm; a son-in-law, Cecil Garner.
Friends may visit from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Mark O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Henry County Cancer Society.
