Geneva Earlene (Poynter) Grass, age 85, New Castle resident, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Glen Oaks Health Campus.
She was born November 2, 1929 in Keiser, Arkansas a daughter of the late Earl and Necie (Crews) Cater.
She had resided in New Castle most of her life, and was a Beautician, owning and operating her own shop in Spiceland, Indiana for many years. She was a 1948 graduate of New Castle High School.
Left to cherish her loving memory include, 1 daughter, Brenda Hembree (husband Jim) of Spiceland, Indiana; 2 granddaughters, Amy McKown (husband Mike) of New Castle, Indiana and Melissa Mondrush (husband Steve) of Spiceland, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Addy and Blake McKown of New Castle, Indiana, and Drew, Sam, Owen, and Emma Mondrush of Spiceland, Indiana; 1 brother, Bobby Cater of Knoxville, Tennessee; nieces, Pam Thompson (husband Barry) of Seymour, Tennessee and Cindy Smith (husband Allen) of Mays, Indiana; nephew, Terry Cater of New Castle, Indiana; also several great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by, her parents; 1 sister, Louise Cater; first husband, Joe Poynter; and second husband, Dale Grass.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the funeral home, with Reverend Eric Haler officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
