Harold Huffman

Harold HuffmanHarold D. Huffman, Sr., of New Castle, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Heart Center, surrounded by his family. He was born April 12, 1931 in Henry County, Indiana, the son of Lloyd and Cecil (Riggle) Huffman.

He attended Lewisville High School and on August 5, 1949, he married the former Onely (Fairchild) Huffman and remained happily married for 43 years prior to her passing. Harold was employed by Chrysler Corporation where he retired after 47 years of service. He was an avid baseball fan, mechanic, and loved to spend time outdoors with family and friends. Harold dedicated his life to his family and friends. He was known as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by anyone who had the honor and blessing of knowing him.

Survivors include his daughter, Dianna Wallace (Dennis Little) of New Castle; a son, John (Stacy) Huffman of Dunreith; two grandchildren, Shelby and Layne Huffman of Dunreith; a step-grandson, Dusty Little of Markleville; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Onely Huffman; a son, Harold Huffman, Jr.; two brothers, Elbert and Eldon Huffman; four sisters, Evelyn, Pauline, Catherine “Kitty” Watkins, and Wilma June Fairchild.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Kirk, from Memorial Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow in Batson Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Harold D.
