Henry County Community Foundation Receives $750,000 Matching Grant

The Henry County Community Foundation is thrilled to announce a $750,000 matching grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.’s initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII). This significant contribution will bolster the Foundation’s Choose Henry Flex Fund, a pooled resource that provides funding to local organizations that are doing charitable work. With this grant and gifts from generous donors, the Choose Henry Flex Fund will be empowered to make an even greater difference in our community, funding a wider range of impactful initiatives and strengthening Henry County for years to come.

“We are incredibly grateful for this grant,” said Jennifer Fox, President and Executive Director of the Henry County Community Foundation. “It will allow us to significantly expand our support for initiatives that strengthen our community and improve the lives of our residents.”

Matching Funds and Community Impact

The matching grant provides a 2-to-1 incentive for donations to the Choose Henry Flex Fund. This means that every dollar donated will be tripled, maximizing the impact of individual contributions. The Choose Henry Flex Fund allows the Foundation to address a wide range of community needs with flexibility, ensuring a fair and transparent grant award process.

About the Henry County Community Foundation

Founded in 1985, the Henry County Community Foundation has a longstanding commitment to serving the community. In addition to providing a vehicle for donors to give to the causes they care about, HCCF has a mission to help where the needs are the greatest, and the benefits to the community and its citizens are most substantial.

The Power of Community Partnership

“This grant empowers our community members to become active participants in shaping Henry County’s future,” Fox continued. “By donating to the Choose Henry Flex Fund, you’ll be directly investing in initiatives that matter to you and your neighbors.”

About Gift VIII

Through GIFT VIII Lilly Endowment has awarded matching fund grants totaling $133.8 million to community foundations serving all 92 of Indiana’s counties. Eligible community foundations submitted proposals requesting grants ranging from $100,000 to $15,000,000 based on the population of the counties they serve. In 2023, Lilly Endowment launched GIFT VIII to help community foundations strengthen the towns, cities, and counties they serve. Matching fund grants are one of several funding opportunities designed to help community foundations promote long-term viability; further strengthen their abilities to lead; encourage board engagement; and support and develop strategic efforts to enhance the quality of life in their communities.
