The Henry County Community Foundation’s Teens About Serving the County (TASC) Youth Grants Committee selected three Henry County non-profit projects to receive their first cycle of grants this year. The grants awarded total $3,974.

Selected organizations and projects receiving grants are Shenandoah High School FFA for the Snug Prom program, New Castle High School publications department to assist with the purchase of a new sports lens, and New Castle High School PEER class for a group trip. This decision was supported by the Henry County Community Foundation Board of Directors by a unanimous vote at the February board meeting.

Composed of students from the five county high schools, the TASC grants committee meets four times a year to evaluate grant submissions relating to youth and educational programs. Monies are awarded from the Unrestricted Fund for Community Grants. Grant guidelines and applications are available at www.henrycountycf.org.

The next grant application deadline is Friday, April 8th, 2016 at noon. Bill Bergmann, retired teacher and Foundation volunteer from Knightstown, is the TASC Committee Chair. Susan Falck-Neal, Henry County Community Foundationboard member, also serves as an advisor to the youth grants committee.
