June L. Cole, 77, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born December 8, 1944, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Herbert and Edna Mae (McDaniel) Oldham.

June retired from Perfect Circle in New Castle following over 27 years of service. She was a member of the Eagles #933 New Castle, the VFW Post #1282 New Castle, and the UAW. She was also a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle.

Feisty, funny, caring, and selfless, June was also giving, accepting, and sometimes bossy. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed mushroom hunting, auctions, and yard sales. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and adored her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, John F. Cole Sr. of New Castle, children, Jeff (Lana) Ridenour of Clarksville, TN, Cheryl (Allen) Demery of Maxton, NC, Mark (Sandy) Ridenour of New Castle, Kelly (Sha) Ridenour of New Castle, James Bush of New Castle and Jason (Angie) Bush of New Castle; a step-son, John F. (Kim) Cole Jr. of New Castle; 20 grandchildren, Amy Chesney, Mike Ridenour, U.S. Army Spec. Rachel Wegner, Rhianna Campbell, Samantha Sexton, Melissa Kahn, Holly Robinson, Josh Ridenour, Katlyn Lloyd, Brooke Riddell, Michael Ridenour, Nik Bush, Matthew Younts, Blake Bush and Alyssa Bush, Jaylee, Noah, and Seth Bush, Matt Cole, Kyle Cole, and Brandy Stoffer, 18 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Burns of Shelbyville; brother, Charlie (Janet) Oldham of Markleville; several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Bush, two children, Kevin Ridenour and Brian Bush; a grandson, Ryan Ridenour; stepson, Steven Cole; step-grandson, Johnny Ray Cole; two sisters, Pat Shelton and Shirley Claywell; a brother, Herbert “Buzz” Oldham.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, October 10, 202,2 at the funeral home.
