Leon E. Seely, 87, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his home. He was born January 13, 1938, in Hancock County, a son of the late Carl and Tarly (Pyle) Seely.

He was a proud graduate of the 1956 Charlottesville High School Class. He was an insurance agent with Shelter Insurance in Knightstown and New Castle for many years. Leon had a passion for farming and farmed his family farm in Hancock County for many years. His favorite pastime was working on lawn mowers.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Pam Seely of New Castle; children, Dawn (Roger) Wallace of Charlottesville, Mark (Ross) Seely of Kansas City, MO; stepdaughter, Michele (Turk) Morgan of Morristown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters; his mother-in-law, Fritzi Hewson of Greenfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

At Leon’s request, there will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society, c/o Henry County Community Foundation at henrycountycf.org.
