Marylou Schmidt, 96, of Yorktown, IN, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Addison Place in New Castle. Marylou was born on January 23, 1929, in Muncie, IN, to the late Clifford and Annabelle (Fullhart) Morgan. On May 7, 1954, she married Gerald E. Schmidt in Yorktown, and he preceded her in passing on November 11, 2012.

She retired from Broderick Company in 1986, after 17 years of service. Marylou taught numerous cake decorating classes over the years and made many wedding cakes for friends and family. She was a talented artist, who loved crafts, sewing, baking, and cooking.

Marylou is survived by her two daughters, Terri (Rob) Corder of New Castle, and Kathy (Earl) Keim of Brookville; four grandchildren, Krista (Woody) Gibson of New Castle, Ross Corder of Noblesville, Alison (Matt) Gandenberger of Brookville, and Molly (Kurt) Grimmeissen of Brookville; great-grandchildren, Presley, Rozlynn, and Sawyer Gibson, Silas and Jesse Grimmeissen, and Jameson and Norah Lou Gandenberger; and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Gerald; brother, Donald; and one great-grandson, Maxwell James Grimmeissen.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service, on Monday, at the funeral home.
