Growing up in Henry County, I took a special interest in the arts from an early age. One outlet I enjoyed expressing myself in was visual arts—drawing, painting, crocheting, needle felting, you name it, I’ve likely tried it! At 13 years old, I began volunteering at the Henry County Art Center, where I grew up spending my summers crafting and building on my art skills.

While attending New Castle Schools, I followed in my older sisters’ footsteps by participating in the musical arts, including class choir, show choir, and later Jazz choir/Madrigals. By my senior year, I worked my way up to becoming the President of Red Hot Blues. Simultaneously, I continued exploring my passion for the visual arts through the form of graphic design at the New Castle Career Center. Though balancing these commitments was difficult, I maintained my education goals by remaining an honors student throughout middle and high school. 

Now, I am a senior at Ball State University studying Social Work, with plans to earn my MSW and LCSW. Throughout college, I have expanded my marketing and design skill set by working for various local companies as an intern. Now, I have the opportunity to combine my interest in the arts and helping my community. I am truly honored to serve as an intern for the Henry County Community Foundation and I look forward to giving back to the community that continues to shape me.
