Randall Stites Miller, 90, of Knightstown, IN, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Hancock Regional Health in Greenfield.
He was born on August 23, 1934 in Knightstown, IN at 145 South Washington Street, a son of the late Emmet Ridgeway and Margaret Ella (Stites) Miller.
Randall grew up on the family farm in Lewisville and attended Spiceland High School and participated in 4-H. He served his country in the United States Army in the Signal Corp during the Vietnam War. Randall continued his education at Ball State University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He began working in building trades and also farming for several years. Randall retired from Charles A. Beard School Corporation as head of the maintenance department.
Randall was an avid reader who loved a good cup of coffee and breakfast at the Burch Tree Café. He also enjoyed building furniture and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Knightstown American Legion, Optimist Club and longtime board member for the Knightstown Library.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Teresa (Bill) Goodsene, Karen (Bill) Beard, Ross Miller (Friend: Victor Lopez) and Laura (Matt) Collins; grandchildren, Lindsay (Jon), Jordyn (Michael), Christopher (Miri), Stephen (Val), Sarah and Hannah (Matt); 9 great-grandchildren and #10 on the way; special friend, Kathryn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Lowder) Miller and siblings, Nancy Smith and Vernon Miller.
Memorial contributions may be offered to the Knightstown Library and Knightstown United Methodist Church
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, November 8, 2024 at Knightstown United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 10am – 12 pm prior to the service at the church.
