Aaron Montgomery Memorial Vocational Scholarship

Requirements: Student of machine trades in NC Area Career Center, 97% attendance, 3.0 GPA or higher, financial need

Description:  Aaron Montgomery was a very bright 17 year old who loved the machine trades schooling so much, he wanted to attend during the holidays. He had perfect attendance and a 4.0 grade in the classes. Due to his untimely death in an auto accident, the New Castle Area Career Program, Magna Tool and Die, Inc., Metaldyne and his family created a scholarship in his memory to help other students financially with the costs of extended schooling in machine trades vocational education.

The award is for a graduating senior who has been a student in machine trades in the New Castle Area Career Program and is enrolled in an accredited vocational/trade school. The scholarship is not renewable. Criteria for this student is 97% perfect attendance, a GPA of 3.0 or higher and financial need.

To be used for tuition, room and board, and educational expenses.

5. Two Recommendation Forms (from High School Principal, High School Guidance Counselor, Teacher, Minister, Employer, etc.)

OTHER INFORMATION:

Scholarship Award Range- $

A payment will be made directly to the vocational-trade school at beginning of terms.

IMPORTANT:  The Henry County Community Foundation will not send checks to the college choice until a thank you has been received at the foundation, addressed to the individual provided on the award letter.  The foundation will mail the thank you note/card to the appropriate individual.

If the student does not attend a vocational-trade school or college, all monies awarded shall be reimbursed to the Scholarship fund.
