Women Supporting Women
By: Amber Estelle
Young women throughout the world experience the same physical needs each month. Some of them come from families who aren’t equipped to supply the hygiene products they need. Many carry on with their daily lives, unprepared.
Programs like Second Harvest Food Bank are sowing seeds of hope for girls in our community by providing for these needs. Amanda Kavars came to the Women’s Circle of Friends Grantmaking Gala in 2021 to share about the impact their program is making and funding from the Women’s Circle of Friends for Women Field of Interest Fund. Through this grant, Second Harvest has been able to provide hygiene products for local girls.
In 2005, a group of caring women from Henry County came together to create this field of interest fund. Over the last 17 years and through gifts from 277 donors, the Women’s Circle of Friends for Women Field of Interest Fund has grown and granted money to 18 local organizations with programs serving girls and women of Henry County.
Grant dollars from women, supporting local women: what a picture of hope for our community!
Field of Interest Funds are spreading hope in our community all of the time thanks to donors giving to the causes they care about!
Everyone benefits from a community that cares. Henry County is filled with women who are passionate about making a difference. They give their time, talent, and treasure to help others thrive.
One way local women are working together is through the Women’s Circle of Friends Grantmaking Gala. Each year, HCCF hosts an event for women to come, enjoy time together, and give to local nonprofit organizations. All proceeds from the evening go directly into grantmaking.
