Over the past six and a half years, Hilary Bennett has had the opportunity to see the Henry County Community Foundation’s impact from many different angles. She began her work with the Foundation in 2019 as Education Manager, focusing on scholarships and student programs. After taking on grantmaking responsibilities in 2021, her role expanded, and she became Program Director.
Today, Hilary works closely with students, donors, nonprofits, and community partners, helping connect generosity with opportunities that strengthen Henry County both now and for the future.
“One of the things I appreciate most about working with the Foundation is the opportunity to help make our county an even better place to live, work, and raise my family,” Hilary shared. “And I get to do that while working with an amazing team.”
Much of Hilary’s work centers around relationships. Through scholarships and the TASC committee, she’s had the privilege of working directly with students as they plan for their futures. Through grantmaking, she’s partnered with nonprofit organizations working every day to meet important needs across the community.
But for Hilary, some of the most meaningful moments come from hearing people’s stories.
“I truly love building relationships with donors and hearing their stories,” she said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see how generosity can create a lasting impact for both current and future generations.”
Hilary also hopes more people understand just how broad the Foundation’s work really is. While many know the Foundation through scholarships or grants, she sees it as an organization focused on building long-term strength throughout the community.
“I wish more people knew just how much the Foundation can do not only for today, but for generations to come,” she said. “We are here to help our community grow stronger in lasting ways.”
That commitment extends to the Foundation’s nonprofit partners as well. Hilary wants local organizations to know the Foundation is more than a funding source. It’s a partner invested in their long-term success.
“We want to be a resource to help nonprofits thrive so they can continue serving our community well into the future,” she shared.
For Hilary, the work is ultimately about people, relationships, and helping create opportunities that will continue making a difference for generations to come.
