Staff Highlight: Amber, Communication & Donor Engagement Manager
By: Jennifer Fox
Since joining the Henry County Community Foundation in January 2021, Amber has had the opportunity to connect with donors, nonprofits, scholarship recipients, volunteers, and community leaders. Through those relationships, she’s gained a unique perspective on the generosity and collaboration happening throughout Henry County every day.
As Communication and Donor Engagement Manager, her work spans everything from newsletters and social media to donor relations and outreach. An important part of Amber’s role is connecting people with the Foundation’s mission by sharing impact stories.
One of the things she enjoys most is getting to know the people behind the stories.
“I love connecting with grantees and sharing how the Foundation has made a difference for them,” Amber said. “I’ve learned so much about the organizations and programs serving our community. Right along with that, I also appreciate getting to know the generous people involved with the Foundation who want to see Henry County growing and thriving.”
One project that left a lasting impression was the playground at Wilbur Wright. The effort brought together donors, organizations, and community members around the shared goal of building a new, sturdy, ADA-compliant playground at Wilbur Wright Elementary School. The project showed just how powerful collective generosity can be.
“So many people came together to bring that playground to life,” Amber recalled. “When we talked to some of our donors about it, they were moved by the need and even pulled together more people they knew who would want to help.”
For Amber, moments like that are a reminder that generosity often inspires more generosity. Watching people rally around a cause, especially those who no longer live in Henry County but still care deeply about it, was particularly meaningful. She shared, “Seeing the ripple effect of generosity was so incredible.”
Her work also gives her a regular reminder that there is plenty of good happening in the community.
“I get to see so many positive things happening in Henry County all of the time,” she said. “Our community is much brighter and more hopeful than we sometimes realize. And seeing donors come together to support important causes is a beautiful thing.”
Through every project, partnership, and conversation, Amber has seen firsthand how people who care about Henry County continue to invest in its future, and she is grateful for the opportunity to help share that impact with others.
