Staff Highlight: Elizabeth, Program and Donor Services Associate
Every gift that comes into the Henry County Community Foundation tells a story. For nearly three years, Elizabeth has been one of the first people to help carry those stories forward.
The moment you walk through the door at the Foundation, you’re met with a friendly greeting and Elizabeth’s genuine smile. She provides hospitality in the office, at events, and through connections with donors.
If you’ve been to a Foundation event in the last couple of years, you’ve experienced Elizabeth’s hard work in planning and preparing meaningful events for our community.
Another of Elizabeth’s main roles involves processing the gifts that support the work that donors are doing through the Foundation. It’s detailed, behind-the-scenes work, but it’s a critical piece to making everything else possible.
In the past year and a half, her role has continued to grow. Elizabeth has become more involved in the Foundation’s impact investing initiative, taking on additional responsibilities and helping support work that looks at new ways to strengthen the community for the long term.
What she enjoys most is the people.
“I love working with so many people in our community,” Elizabeth shared. “I feel like I get to see how our community comes together to problem solve and meet needs.”
That sense of connection has made the work especially meaningful. For Elizabeth, some of the moments that stand out most are the ones where generosity turns into something tangible.
“Getting to be a small part of helping to realize dreams and reward those who have given so much to our community has meant a lot to me,” she said.
She also sees an opportunity to help more people understand the Foundation’s reach. Through everyday conversations, she often finds herself sharing stories about the impact happening across Henry County.
While her days often begin with the fine details of gift processing, Elizabeth never loses sight of the bigger picture. She knows that every data entry represents a neighbor’s heart for Henry County, and she has found a professional home where her daily checklist serves a larger mission.
“I don’t know that our community truly knows how much the Foundation has impacted it,” Elizabeth said. “I love getting to tell those stories when people ask where I work. It’s truly not just a job, but a way that I can give back.”
